Home alone. and Happy Father's Day Dad!
So for my Father's Day present, I decided to make a post on this site, because maybe my dad might like to read something cool for Father's Day. Oh by the way, its the thought that counts, sorry my story isn't the most intersting thing in the world, but the pictures are good! okay, here we go..
So, I thought you might like to see what we kids do while we are home alone left with nothing except pizza and eachother.

First of all, as suprising as it may be, the computers are.. EMPTY! no joke!

so what do we do!?
the most random things we can think of.
THATS WHAT.
example 1: Claire makes card out of candy wrappers?

well, why not?
Okay, i don't know what Scott is doing, most likely some war thing. I guess I could just say, this is Scott, being Scott.

And then, he saw me taking his picture. oops.

So moving on to Meg. she is of course, in her lair, doing art stuff because she is a creative genius. seriously

I think she was painting a card. she likes paint. and glue.

^ a true artist indeed.
oh, just try to survive Meg's babytalk while home alone. I dare you!
Oh yeah, what do I do? pshh what else? take pictures!

Actually that was just a great save for what random things people actually find me doing. like I said, we do the most random pointless things we can think of. why? because we can.
example:

like the face? yeah, me too.
So later, Scott decided that we should all play Scattegories. (yes, it was Scott. amazingly, he wasn't playing some war computer game.)
Game Time!!!!!!!

I must say it was a pretty intense game. All four of us battled like no other. And I think it's safe to say, we are the Scattegories champs. Just try to take the Austin Cahill kids on.

(Me and Claire were playing, we just weren't in the picture because someone had to take it. Or two people i guess.....)
No Cheating? I think not. We do things like.. hit the timer and make the time go down? Meg, you make me laugh. nice picture.

And then we did what kids do best.

fo sho.
And we did some other stuff.. but hey, who wants to take pictures all day when you have a whole time of home alone-ness. So thats just a small taste of a Friday night with nothing to do. (y'all are lucky...Scattegories was a bonus. we normally just.. eat pizza? and watch movies? but we didn't have a movie that day. oooh!)
So thats all from the "Editor in Cheif"

hahaha yes.
Kate. OUT!
oh and of course an added bonus farewell from the other kooky kids.

Aren't we the cutest things ever!?
hahahahahahaha
well you all know where we got all the good looks!
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD!
or, as Meg says, Dadoo Wadoo!
Love,
Us.

WE LOVE YOU DAD!
oh, one more thing...
GO SPURS GO!

Meg CATA Tour Stop and Bonus BBQ
Meg took part this weekend in the CATA tour stop at Onion Creek Country Club.
Meg had a tough first match Friday evening. All the hard courts were filled so she experienced clay court tennis for the first time in her career. Being not quite as proficient yet as Rafael Nadal, she dropped the eight-game pro set match, and landed in the consolation bracket.
Saturday morning, she faced a fellow Austin Tennis Academy player. In what seemed the longest match, Meg ground out an 8-6 victory in about an hour and a half. She played it on the same clay court gaining more experience.
She was back on court less than a hour later, picked up the pace and won 8-3. Again she played it on the same clay court gaining even more experience.
After a quick lunch she was back out on court (hard court unfortunately), but ran into a tough player who took the consolation finals 8-1. Meg battled but was not pleased with her play. After speaking with her coach by phone after the match, they agreed upon some things to work on.
It was quite a bit of tennis to play over the two days, and for an added bonus, Meg, Scott, and I went down to Lockhart Friday evening, for some excellent BBQ at Blacks BBQ.

Lockhart is home to several awesome BBQ establishments including Kreuz Market, Chisolm Trail Bar-B-Q, Smitty's Market, and Blacks.

Claire and Kate Harlingen Champ Tournament Update
Claire and Kate are competing in a Champ Tennis tournament in Harlingen, way down by Brownsville.
Claire won here first match in straight sets, and faced the second seed in the red draw in the second round. She battled, splitting the first two sets, but ultimately lost the tie breaker. Since Claire won her first match, she does not go into the consolation bracket, and has finished her participation in this tournament.

Kate has advanced to the third round, beating the first two girls she's played. She'll play again tomorrow at 8am in the quarterfinals, perhaps against the #1 seed in the white draw.

I'll update this post with the scores as I get them. Aim your cheers South tomorrow morning!
Update: Kate faced the number one seed who was adept with the lobs, spin and other shots. She lost in straight sets.
Deb, Kate, and Claire returned back to Austin Saturday evening.

Stop You Thief!
As we picked all the peaches, we noticed several half eaten ones. The did not look like the usual bird peckings. We picked pretty much all the peaches left on the tree, except for a few remaining smaller, harder ones.
When I looked out the window this evening, the thief was in plain view..

We might need to borrow Bob and Tara's Blackjack for a few weeks next year in late May (providing he doesn't like peaches!)

Soccer Party
A couple of days ago I had a soccer party. There was a moon bouncer type thing and there were misters on it. My friend Nicki and I took the caps off the misters and started spraying them everywhere. Soon enough the whole place was soaking. Then we slid around the place and jumped off the little whoopdeedoos. After that since a girl's mom's boyfriend owned a Rudy's, we got free BBQ. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Then Nicki and I ate the jelly doughnut that a kid said he would kill us if we ate (last time I checked I'm still alive).
I have concluded that this was the best soccer party ever!!!

A Sad Day - The Oasis Burns Down
A major lightning storm came through around 4:30am this morning.
A lightning bolt apparently caught the decks of the Oasis Restaurant on fire which quickly spread to the entire complex. Here's the News 36 account and video.
This restaurant is a key reason many visit Austin with its glorious view of Lake Travis and sunsets which get standing ovations.
Let's hope the rebuild is quick...
Update: Some good news, the bar and dance club, Starlight which is connected to the Oasis was undamaged, so dancing in the moonlight overlooking Lake Travis will continue on.
Also the rebuild is underway and their expecting the project to take 6 months.
