Finally, Longhorn Football Season!

It's been a long sports lull from the Longhorns winning the College World Series and being crowned national champions and the start of Longhorn football camp.

Thank goodness for Lance winning the Tour de France, or it would be pretty bleak sportwise, given my lack of interest in pro baseball.

Scott, Meg, and I went out to the scrimmage today at DKR Royal Memorial stadium. Both the first team offense and defense looked pretty solid. I think we have some new thunder and lightning with freshman running backs Henry Melton and Jamaal Charles. Melton at 270lbs looks like a svelte Jerome Bettis. Vince look pretty good as well although it looked like he had orders not to take off and go.

Hard to say much about the defense since they stayed very basic, but they definitely fly to the ball in a swarm.

If you happen to be in Austin on September 3rd, stop by for our Cajun classic tailgate party, as we celebrate the return of Tommy, Julie and the Mathis Family from their 3 year stint in London.
