Bathroom Tile, Interior Carpentry Work
We stopped by the house today to catch up on the latest happenings. Last week ended with tile work moving to the showers and baths. Also the cabinets in the kitchen were all put into place.
Lot's of the molding, interior doors and other supplies arrived and will be going into place this coming week.
Brother Dan and I did this sort of work in our youth. I hope the subcontractors on this job don't try to cheat the workers, like our sub did to us (although we eventually collected from the deadbeat!)
Dan, grab a hammer and come join the fun!

3rd Annual Cahill Family Prime Beef Cookout
We spent the weekend in Lorena with our friend Steve Smith, his son Stevenson, his fiancée, Karen, and Stevenson’s friends, Robert & Dillon. The weekend was non-stop Texas fun, boating and pistol and skeet-shooting & and our 3rd annual Cahill Family Prime Beef cookout!

The UT Football Coaches are Scouting...
Scott shows his prowess over the weekend at the Lake Travis Football camp. A record number of kids came out to drill for four hours on Saturday and Sunday. The camp included University of Texas football players volunteering their time to help run the drills. Scott received some quarterbacking tips from Colt McCoy.
I think they are also doing some early scouting for the 2015 season!
Here's some pictures of Scott at the linebacker station intercepting a pass and getting ready to "lay the wood" on the coach:

Also, as promised here's the new mailbox complete with stone matching the stone on the house:

Rumor has it that cabinets will appear next week after the painting is complete.

Priming before Texturing and Painting Inside
It's looking more and more like a house everytime we stop by. Today we went and checked and saw the inside priming paint which was done yesterday. The texturing work will take place over the next couple of days.
Here's a closer look at the interior with views of the kitchen, family room, and 2nd floor game room.
Darn, where's the picture of the new mailbox? We'll have to post that next time. It's definitely nicer than the original!

Enjoying Saturday Back at the Beach
With Deb taking Kate and Claire to compete at the Raveneaux tournament in Houston, Meg, Scott, and I headed back to Mansfield Dam park for a barbeque and swim in Lake Travis.
Here's my ace assistant chefs in action:

The lake level continues to drop from lack of rain, but the beach is still nice and the water temperature perfect.
Here's Scott and Meg showing their prowess building rock castles. Scott named his Utopia and mentioned how it was completely powered by hydroelectric and solar energy. Here's their handiwork:

Surrounded by Talent!
Kate, Claire, and I drove to Amarillo for the July round of tennis tournaments. We stayed with Suzy, Mark, and family and had a great visit.
Kate in her second Superchamp tournament battled but did not prevail in her two matches. Claire started slowly but came on strong in both her matches winning the first 7-6, 7-6, and the second 6-4, 6-3. She's takes on the top seed tomorrow morning, so cross your fingers... Here's a great shot courtesy of Suzy:

It was great having Mark, Suzy, Colleen, Megan, and Alex come out and cheer for Kate and Claire. Here's the cheering section in action:

Thanks for the wonderful hospitality Suzy and Mark!
