Disappearing Sometimes Islands

OK just so this is not Lake Travis water levels all the time... Scott won in Lacrosse, Kate and Claire competed well in an Open Competition here in Austin, Scott and me took in an Austin Wranglers arena football game, and other assorted weekend fun.

Now on to the lake... more heavy rains has Lake Travis rising an estimated 10-13 feet over the next few days.

Here's a picture showing the disappearing "Sometimes Islands" that are part of the main basin area.

I Like this Trend

Given the trends in some of the financial indices over the past few weeks, I finally found a trend I like.

We had a real "gully washer" come through the upper Colorado river watershed including the Austin area late last night and it lasted throughout the wee hours.

Here's a snapshot of the water level trend on Lake Travis.

Now if we can get six to eight more of these we'll have it filled up again... half that and those pesky Sometimes Islands may finally disappear!

Cross Your Fingers

Kate, Claire and Meg were all in tennis tournament action this weekend. I went with Meg to San Antonio while Deb was with Kate and Claire (and Scott) in Georgetown.

Each of them won all their matches today. So the the Cahill girls are 6-0 heading to tomorrow's main draw semi-final (Meg) and quarter-final (Kate and Claire) matches. All matches were won in convincing fashion.

Keep your fingers crossed!
