A View from the Sometimes Islands at Lake Travis
With the drought conditions we've had over the past several months, Lake Travis is 37 feet below full. This means that the Sometimes Islands, located in the main basin of Lake Travis by Mansfield Dam, can be reached by swimming from Mansfield Dam park.
Scott and I gave it a go today and explored the island chain. Here's a slideshow of our adventure:

The Sunflowers are Out in Force!

Servo Motor Controlled Squirter
After cooling off at Lake Travis yesterday afternoon, Scott and I hacked around and got a servo-motor controlled squirter project working.
Could a whole automatic sprinkler system be far behind?

Milestone in the Process of Growing Up
Today Scott crossed another milestone on the path to adulthood. He got to mow the front forty, well at least the top, grassy field part. He took on the challenge and did a great job. Here's Scott in action:
To celebrate this big occasion, we picked up spud gun parts at Home Depot, built it, and let 'r rip:
