Let's Add Volleyball
Not content with just tennis and band, Meg has also been playing this season on her middle school volleyball team.
Fair warning, you don't want to be on the receiving end of her serve!
This match was a heartbreaker for the Lady Bucs with the teams splitting the first two games, and then dropping the third game 27-25. So close!

5th Grade Pool Party
Yesterday I went to the 5th grade pool party. The parents who organized it had bought little beach balls. The fight started out with three people. My friend and I started throwing them at another kid. Then we brought 2 more people in. Little by little, most of the boys there were included in the fight. Only six girls were fighting but we were SO much better than the guys, that it didn't matter. It took about ten of them to take 1 weapon from the girls. The fight ended when they made us get out of the pool.... sort of. Anna wanted to get her favorite weapon back from Jake but he wouldn't give it to her, so I came in and threatened to use my weapon again, after that he dropped it and ran. :)

Hundred Degree Hike
With Kate and Claire at the the Austin Tennis Academy Bootcamp, and Deb and Scott at a birthday party, Meg and I set off on a Sunday afternoon hike, in the Balcones Preserve area behind Laurel Mountain Elementary.
Meg grabbed the eTrex GPS and here's our trail, before we decided to break off the trip and return to the comfort of air conditioning.

Soccer Party
A couple of days ago I had a soccer party. There was a moon bouncer type thing and there were misters on it. My friend Nicki and I took the caps off the misters and started spraying them everywhere. Soon enough the whole place was soaking. Then we slid around the place and jumped off the little whoopdeedoos. After that since a girl's mom's boyfriend owned a Rudy's, we got free BBQ. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Then Nicki and I ate the jelly doughnut that a kid said he would kill us if we ate (last time I checked I'm still alive).
I have concluded that this was the best soccer party ever!!!

our usual flickerball game
Since i have gotten what is believed to be shin splints I couldn't play in our usual flickerball game in P.E. Flickerball is a game played on the field at the school where everyone wears flags and tries to score on the other teams goalies. When your flag is pulled you have to do whatever exercise Mr. Peterson wants you to do (run the track, thirty push-ups, etc.)and throw the ball up in the air. Well something happened that wasn't quite normal in our little game. A guy named Blake accidentally clipped his flag to the zipper on his windpants and when the flag was pulled....WHOOPS! He was pouting for the rest of the day and I don't think Mr. Peterson was helping that.
